CAFYOIN EASTER COMMUNITY REACH OUT

CARE FOR YOUTH FUTURE INITIATIVE (CAFYOIN) EASTER COMMUNITY REACHOUT TO SINGLE TEENAGE MOTHERS IN MABUSHI VILLAGE ON 27TH MARCH, 2010

The events took place inside chief Alhaji Aminu Akwai’s palace in Mabushi village at about 11:30am. The occasion has in its attendance, the Executive Director of CAFYOIN, Mrs Roseline Aghabalu, the members of CAFYOIN, the chief of Mabushi, the council of elders, the gentlemen of the press, more than 60 single teenage mothers with their children, mothers, youths and children.

The Executive Director in her opening remarks expressed gratitude to the chief, the council of elders and the community for their warmth reception and to everyone that was present. The program officer of CAFYOIN, Mr Azubuike Ozoemena highlighted the importance of last year's workshop program, which was organized for the single teenage mothers in Mabushi, how far they have gone in putting into practice what they learnt in the last workshop.

Mrs Roseline Aghabalu, the Executive Director of CAFYOIN in her speech, on the occasion urged the teenage mothers to be hard-working in utilizing the opportunities being given to them by CAFYOIN on the last year workshop where they were taught on how to make beads, snacks, sewing clot and so many other things, she also sensitize them on the importance of immunization to their children. There was an interactive session with the single teenage mothers where they spoke on their challenges as single teenage mother. Good number of them need finance or sponsors to go back to school because they drop out from JS1, 2, 3 and SS1 as a result of pregnancy. Some of them wanted to further their studies to tertiary institutions, having  learnt  how to make beads, snacks, tailoring, plaiting of  hair ,but lack the capital to start their own business, some don’t have money to feed and take proper medi-care of their children, they solicited for help from members of CAFYOIN and the society in general.

The climax of the occasion was distribution of food items, which includes Rice, Tomatoes, , Groundnut oil Diapers for nursing mothers who have children of not more than four weeks old.

The chief of Mabushi village, Alhaji Aminu Akwai in his vote of thanks, expressed his joy and urged the CAFYOIN members to continue the good humanitarian work and community Development services, while he continues to pray for God Blessing on us Amen.
