The attention of the team of Care for Youths Future Initiative (CAFYOIN) an independent, non-governmental, non-religious, non-sectional, non-profiting, non-political and non-tribal initiative established in Nigeria and registered under Part C of the Companies and Allied Matters Act 1990, for the purpose of empowering youths, single teenage mothers, orphans and vulnerable children as well as the less privileged in our society, on Friday the 21st 0f October 20011 responded to a call by a good spirited Nigerian to come to the aid of one Miss FELICIA IKA aged 25, a single teenage mother delivered of a baby girl EMMANUELLA on the 5th of October 2011 through a caesarean section at the National Hospital Abuja.
According to sources and information gathered, Miss Felicia who resides in Karimo, a suburb in the FCT was rushed down to the National Hospital following labour complication and was successfully delivered of a baby girl. However, after delivery Miss Felicia whom we gathered is a stylist could not afford the cost of her medical bills which had accumulated to the tune of Ninety five thousand naira (N95, 000) and has been held by the management of the Hospital running into sixteen days after delivery with no help coming from friends or relative. Miss Felicia in her helpless condition of being a single mother was left to her fate to cater for the new baby and her accumulating medical bills.
Following her ordeal, Care for Youths Future Initiative (CAFYOIN) was moved to come to the aid of Miss Felicia and her 16 day old baby both held at the National Hospital Abuja by helping to offset her bills to the tune of Ninety five thousand naira (N95, 000). Miss Felicia has long been discharged and has returned home to care for her baby. At the event were; Mrs. Roseline Aghabalu (Executive Director) and Mr. Godfrey Joseph (Programme coordinator) who escouted Miss. Felicia Ika home to know her residence for subsequent follow up.
Care for Youths Future Initiative (CAFYOIN) been committed to the plight of single teenage mothers in our society and the less privileged in our society is further following up on Miss Felicia Ika to ensure that she is able to fend for a baby and herself and subsequently lead a normal life with her dreams and aspirations being realized.
